A concise and exhaustive summary of the book One Minute Manager

I recently read a classic book on management called “The One Minute Manager” written by Kenneth H Blanchard and Spencer Johnson. This short book in a simple yet effective way summarizes the three techniques of an effective manager.

They are,

The One Minute Goals-
This is the most important part where you need to decide what exactly do you want and then set achievable short-term goals with a fixed deadline. If a huge task needs to be completed then breaking that task into small subtasks and then concentrating on an individual piece is the way to go.

The One Minute Praisings-
Whenever you achieve a task enjoy yourself by celebrating a bit and then move on. It is important to know that the celebration should be short and should not influence your future work.

The One Minute Reprimands-
If you fail at achieving a goal then it's okay to feel bad but you need to quickly move on. This feeling of failure can act as a great motivator and you should turn it into a potential difference that will accelerate you towards your goals.
